Sharon Steed is an international keynote speaker and subject matter expert on communicating with empathy.
How it all started
Her extensive experience as a content marketer and her passion for the tech industry led her to speaking. After years of hearing hiring managers complain about how difficult it is to find people who were both talented developers and socially savvy communicators, she developed a talk that would help technical minds speak with more confidence.
What does that look like?
Well, Sharon stutters. And with the help of her speech impediment, she shows how important empathy is when it comes to communicating on teams. Empathy should be a verb, and her talks focus on turning empathy actionable so people know how to be empathetic at work and beyond. She also discusses the importance of active listening; the value of vulnerability; and how teams can be more effective collaborators.
Sharon's goal with every talk is to help people better shape their message through inspiring them to think outside of the box; empowering them with the tools they need to more effectively share their ideas and fully embrace others'; and leaving them with actionable steps that will help them talk to humans.
